Shawn Marion dropped in his only field goal of the game with 1.1 seconds left as the Phoenix Suns edged the Cleveland Cavaliers 110-108 in the NBA on Friday.

Marion was 0-for-3 from the floor before he took a pass in the corner, dribbled past a defender and as LeBron James came toward him, arched in his shot on the run to put the Suns ahead.

The Suns burned the Cavaliers with a season-high 17 three-pointers and improved to 17-2 against Eastern Conference teams.

    Celtics 87, Timberwolves 86

In Boston, Kendrick Perkins scored with 16.6 seconds left and Kevin Garnett poked the ball away from Sebastian Telfair as time expired to give Boston the victory over Minnesota.

In the first matchup between Garnett and the handful of ex-Celtics traded to Minnesota for him, Boston struggled to put away the team with the worst record in the NBA.

In Auburn Hills, Michigan, Richard Hamilton scored 32 points as Detroit coasted past Orlando.

Rasheed Wallace had 13 of his 15 in the first quarter as Detroit scored a season-high 68 points in the first half to build a big early lead.

The Central Divison-leading Pistons have won successive games since dropping a season-high three in a row.

The Southeast Division-leading Magic lost after winning three straight.

    Hornets 111, Clippers 92

In New Orleans, the home team sank Los Angeles to win their seventh straight game.

    Mavericks 112, Lakers 105

In Dallas, Josh Howard had 26 points and Dallas held off a furious finish by Kobe Bryant to beat Los Angeles.

Bryant scored the Lakers' last 10 points. He had 40 in the game and went 17-of-21 from the foul line, approaching his career highs in both those categories.

His barrage single-handedly got Los Angeles within five points twice in the final minutes after trailing by 17 after three quarters.

    Rockets 89, Trail Blazers 79

In Portland, Oregon, Houston snapped Portland's 12-game home winning streak.

Tracy McGrady had 15 points and Carl Landry added 12 points plus eight rebounds for the Rockets, who have won three straight.

    Bobcats 90, Bulls 77

In Chicago, Emeka Okafor scored 21 points and had 16 rebounds to help Charlotte beat Chicago.

The Bulls have lost five of their past eight games.

    Wizards 104, Grizzlies 93

In Washington, the home side rebounded from their worst defeat in more than six years to beat Memphis.
