The fractured relationship between the Australian and Indian cricket teams reached a new low yesterday after Australia's amazing victory.
The win was overshadowed by an outburst from the Indians, who accused the Australians of unsportsmanlike behavior and called on the International Cricket Council to sack the two umpires that handled the match.
"Only one team was playing with the spirit of the game," Indian captain Anil Kumble said.
The Indian team manager Chetan Chauhan said the tourists were so upset at the performances of the two umpires, Steve Bucknor and Mark Benson, that they planned to lodge an official complaint.
"The umpiring was flawed, the team is agitated," Chahan said. "They are upset, a lot of decisions have gone against us, a few went against the Australians as well but it really affected us."
