Avram Grant insists Chelsea are not considering a bid for Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov.
Reports in the English media on Friday claimed Tottenham were so concerned about Chelsea making a £26 million (US$51.3 million) offer for the Bulgarian than they phoned their London rivals to warn them off.
But Chelsea manager Grant is adamant Berbatov has not even been discussed as the club weigh up their transfer window targets.
"I can tell you there's no news on any of this speculation about players coming to Chelsea," Grant said. "How we can stay away from a player [Berbatov] when we have not even discussed him?"
Grant revealed Didier Drogba is back in training after knee surgery last month. However the Ivory Coast striker will be missing from Grant's squad until next month if he proves his fitness because he has been called up by the Ivory Coast for the African Nations Cup.
"He has trained well. If he is fit he will join his team for the African Nations Cup," he said.
