Blackburn boss Mark Hughes believes there is no reason to panic despite seeing his side suffer a worrying Premier League winter slump.
At the end of October, Rovers were on a seven-match winning run and were fifth in the table.
But since then, the Ewood Park side have won just one of nine matches overall, taking just five points from the last 24 and are in 10th place.
high riders
Today they have a tough assignment at Sven-Goran Eriksson's Manchester City, who are riding high in fourth place.
"It is frustration as far as we are concerned," Hughes said.
"Things have not gone as well as we might have hoped over the past few games, and it would be easy to sit back and feel sorry for ourselves, but I can assure you the opposite is the case. We know what needs to be done and we are trying all we can to get our season back on track," he said.
magnificent seven
Hughes added: "It was only a few short weeks ago we were celebrating a magnificent seven-match winning run. We were all delighted with the way the campaign had started and everything was running perfectly. So trust me, we are not prepared to let all that hard work go to waste."
City midfielder Michael Johnson is almost certain to miss today's clash.
The England Under-21 international is suffering from an abdominal complaint.
Blackburn will be without three players through suspension -- Robbie Savage, Stephen Warnock and Keith Treacy.
