Stafon Johnson ran for 144 yards and had one of USC's five rushing touchdowns and John David Booty threw two short TD passes in top-ranked Southern California's 49-31 victory over Nebraska on Saturday.

The Trojans (2-0) piled up 313 yards rushing and won for the 61st time in 67 games. It was a thoroughly impressive performance and far more one-sided affair than the final score showed.

    Florida 59, Tennessee 20

At Gainesville, Florida, Tim Tebow threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 61 yards and two scores to lead the Gators past the Volunteers (1-2, 0-1).

Tebow completed two passes underhanded and another falling down. He hit Riley Cooper and Cornelius Ingram with perfect throws in the end zone.

    LSU 44, Middle Tennessee 0

At Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Ryan Perrilloux looked nothing like a backup quarterback in his first start for LSU, throwing for 298 yards and three touchdowns to lead LSU.

LSU coach Les Miles decided to rest starter Matt Flynn, who sprained his ankle a week earlier.

    Kentucky 40, Louisville 34

At Lexington, Kentucky, Andre Woodson threw a 57-yard touchdown pass to Steve Johnson with 28 seconds left as the Wildcats beat a top-10 team.

Kentucky was about to lose its fifth in a row to its intrastate rival, but Johnson zipped past the Cardinals' secondary and Woodson nailed him in stride.

    Ohio St. 33, Washington 14

At Seattle, Chris Wells ran for 135 yards and a touchdown and No. 10 Ohio State scored 24 consecutive points in the second half to defeat Washington.

Linebacker James Laurinaitis intercepted Washington's Jake Locker twice deep in Buckeyes territory.

    California 42, Louisiana Tech 12

At Berkeley, California, Lavelle Hawkins returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and Justin Forsett ran for 152 yards and three scores.

Craig Stevens and Jahvid Best caught TD passes from Nate Longshore, who passed for 230 shaky yards as Cal (3-0) finished its nonconference schedule.

    Oklahoma 54, Utah State 3

At Norman, Oklahoma, Sam Bradford threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns in another efficient performance

Malcolm Kelly caught his sixth and seventh touchdown passes of the season and Allen Patrick showed his sprained ankle had healed with a 69-yard TD.

    Texas 35, Central Florida 32

At Orlando, Florida, Colt McCoy threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns and Jamaal Charles scored on a 46-yard run to clinch the Longhorns' victory in the first game in UCF's new stadium.

Ryan Bailey kicked five field goals for Texas (3-0), which regrouped after blowing a 13-point lead to fall behind 24-23 early in the fourth quarter. Bailey put the Longhorns ahead for good, then tied a school record with a fifth field goal that made it 29-24 with 5:19 left.

Charles rushed 153 yards on 22 carries. McCoy completed 32 of 47 passes and was intercepted once.

    Wisconsin 45, The Citadel 31

At Madison, Wisconsin, running back P.J. Hill tied a school record with five touchdowns and the Badgers shook off a first-half scare.

The Badgers (3-0) extended the nation's longest active winning streak to 12 games and never trailed.
