Bryant, Yao, Oden to play on first day of new NBA season

The NBA's 62nd season will begin on Oct. 30, the league announced on Wednesday, with Kobe Bryant, Yao Ming (姚明), top draft pick Greg Oden and champion San Antonio in on the action.
This new campaign tips off with the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs hosting Portland and touted rookie big man Oden, with Chinese superstar center Yao and the Houston Rockets at the Los Angeles Lakers as well.
NBA team training camps will open Oct. 1 with six clubs taking part in international camps and playing exhibition games in eight cities in China and Europe.
San Antonio swept Cleveland in June's NBA Finals, but LeBron James will start his quest to return to the title series against German star Dirk Nowitzki and a Dallas team that led the NBA with 67 wins last season.
