The Cincinnati Reds' Ken Griffey Jr hits a two-run home run off Texas Rangers pitcher Jamey Wright in the third inning of their game on Saturday in Cincinnati. The hit was the 581st career home run for Griffey and his second of the game. Rangers catcher Gerald Laird is at right. The Reds won 8-4.

Derek Jeter hit a go-ahead homer and finished with four hits, Alex Rodriguez added a home run and the New York Yankees beat the slumping Mets 11-8 on Saturday.
Robinson Cano and No. 9 batter Miguel Cairo each knocked in two runs and the Yankees got a big effort from their bullpen in winning for the 10th time in 11 games.
The Yankees recovered from a 2-0 loss on Friday night, improving to 2-3 against their cross-town Major League Baseball rivals this year. The National League East leading Mets have lost 10 of 12 overall.
Red Sox 1, Giants 0
In Boston, Manny Ramirez ended a 50 at-bat homerless streak, Daisuke Matsuzaka struck out eight in seven innings and Boston remained eight-and-a-half games ahead of the Yankees in the American League's East Division.
Barry Bonds went 0-for-3 with an intentional walk and remained stuck on 747 career homers, eight away from Hank Aaron's record.
Angels 3, Dodgers 0
In Los Angeles, Jered Weaver won his fifth consecutive decision, Reggie Willits and Howie Kendrick keyed a two-out, three-run rally with RBI singles in the fifth inning and the Angels ended the Dodgers' four-game winning streak.
Weaver (6-3) allowed four hits in five innings to give the Angels' rotation its major league-leading 38th win.
Braves 6, Indians 2
In Cleveland, Edgar Renteria went 5-for-5 with a homer and drove in two runs for Atlanta.
After missing a start to rest his sore shoulder, John Smoltz (8-3) allowed two runs in six innings.
Blue Jays 7, Nationals 3
In Toronto, Vernon Wells homered and drove in a season-high four runs, Shaun Marcum struck out a career-high 11 over seven innings and Toronto won its third straight.
Wells singled home a run in the first, hit a two-run homer in the third and drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk in the fourth.
Rockies 10, Devil Rays 5
At Denver, Brad Hawpe hit his first career grand slam, Garrett Atkins homered for the third straight game and Colorado won its fourth straight to move to two games over .500 for the first time since April 6.
The Rockies have outscored their opponents 41-10 in the last four games. By taking the first two of a three-game series with Tampa Bay, Colorado is 7-0-1 in its last eight series.
Diamondbacks 8, Orioles 4
At Baltimore, Scott Hairston hit the first of Arizona's three home runs off Daniel Cabrera and the Diamondbacks dealt Baltimore its seventh straight loss.
Chris Young and Chad Tracy also connected for the Diamondbacks, who built a 5-0 lead in the third inning.
Phillies 6, Tigers 3
At Philadelphia, soft-tossing Jamie Moyer outpitched a prospect half his age and Aaron Rowand homered and singled in the go-ahead run to help Philadelphia close within two games of the NL East-leading New York Mets.
Shane Victorino had three hits, including a solo homer, for the Phillies.
Reds 8, Rangers 4
At Cincinnati, Ken Griffey Jr. homered twice and grabbed the spotlight from Sammy Sosa's quest for No. 600 as Cincinnati won.
Slumping David Ross also homered twice for Cincinnati, which scored all its runs off five homers.
Brewers 5, Twins 2
At Minneapolis, Dave Bush stopped a personal six-start winless streak and Milwaukee won its fourth straight.
Bush (4-6) baffled the Twins with his slow curveballs into the seventh inning, Bill Hall hit an RBI double and Corey Hart broke the game open with a two-run single.
Marlins 9, Royals 8
At Kansas City, Missouri, Miguel Cabrera homered twice and drove in four runs and Miguel Olivo went 5-for-5 in another big night against Kansas City.
Cabrera was 2-for-5 and raised his average to .337. He connected off starter Jorge De La Rosa (4-7) in the fifth and added a second two-run shot in the sixth.
Astros 9, Mariners 4
At Houston, Craig Biggio hit a three-run homer to back Woody Williams' strong outing for Houston.
It was the fourth straight loss for Seattle after a season-high five-game win streak.
White Sox 6, Pirates 1
At Pittsburgh, Mark Buehrle scattered nine hits over eight innings, Josh Fields hit a two-run homer and Chicago snapped a four-game losing streak.
Buehrle (4-3) struck out four and issued an intentional walk. He has won consecutive starts after not earning a win since April 23 -- the start just after his no-hitter April 18.
Cardinals 15, Athletics 6
At Oakland, California, Chris Duncan had a pinch-hit grand slam in St. Louis' 10-run fifth inning to trounce Oakland.
Juan Encarnacion doubled to extend his hitting streak to 16 games and drove in three runs and So Taguchi had three RBIs for the Cardinals.
