Sarah Lee followed her record-tying opening round performance with a three-under 68 on Friday to maintain the lead at the US$2.2 million LPGA Michelob Open.

One day after tying the course record at the Kingsmill course, Lee finished with a bogey en route to a 11-under par 133 for the tournament. She is two strokes clear of Becky Morgan of Wales.

Taiwan's Amy Hung (¬x¨G¼z) is another two strokes back at 135 following a 68.

Lee started on the back nine on Friday, picking up birdies on Nos. 14 and 16. She added another on the third, going under on the par-five hole for the second straight day.

Despite the solid round, Lee admitted to being a bit uneasy after Thursday's accomplishment.

"I was a little nervous after [the] eight-under par," Lee said. "I just had to focus and just enjoy my game."

Despite the butterflies, Lee stayed out of trouble nearly the entire day, only having to save par on the par-five seventh after putting her second shot into the weeds.

She rebounded with a 50-yard chip shot that set up a 12-foot putt.

"My ball lie was maybe like 60, 70 degrees uphill," Lee said. "Luckily, I got room [to] hit the green."

A member of the LPGA Tour since 2002, Lee is looking for her first win.

She posted a career-best second-place finish at the Safeway International last season.

Entering the day tied for 14th, Morgan finished tied for the lowest round of the day with a 65 after shooting seven birdies.

The 32-year-old had five on the back nine after starting at No. 10.

"I don't think I missed a fairway in two days and I hit a lot of greens," Morgan said. "I holed some pretty good putts the last couple of days, so that brings a lot of satisfaction."

On the tour since 2001, Morgan has had only one top-five finish in the past two seasons.
