Chen "Airman" Hsin-an's outstanding fourth-quarter play, which lifted his team to a pair of impressive come-from-behind wins last week, earned the Yulon Dinos forward this week's Super Basketball League Player of the Week honor.
The premier all-purpose forward's 18 and 14-point fourth-quarter outbursts in the games against Taiwan Beer and the Videoland Hunters last weekend helped the defending champs secure an unprecedented fourth consecutive regular season title as they gear up for first-round playoffs action scheduled for tonight at the Taipei Physical Education College Gymnasium.
"I'd like to thank my teammates for the great job they did in getting me open for the shots," Chen said after learning of his selection for the coveted weekly award.
His team has won three in a row against worthy opponents to close out the regular season with a bang while picking up the top-seed berth in this year's postseason play along the way.
And with the resiliency and superb bench depth that the Dinos have shown in their triple-overtime win over the Hunters last Sunday, they could easily breeze by the injury-plagued Dacin Tigers in the best-of-five first round without much trouble.
