Brewers complete sweep of Cardinals

Nate Robertson (3-1) gave up two runs and seven hits over 6 2-3 innings. His 2.48 ERA ranks among the AL leaders.

Mariners 3, White Sox 2

At Seattle, Yuniesky Betancourt hit a tiebreaking homer in the seventh inning and Miguel Batista pitched surging Seattle over Chicago.

Jose Guillen also homered and Raul Ibanez had an RBI double to help the Mariners send Chicago to its fourth consecutive loss.

Red Sox 6, Athletics 4

At Boston, Josh Beckett became the first Boston pitcher to win his first six starts since Roger Clemens in 1991, allowing three runs in seven innings.

Beckett (6-0), the first six-game winner this season, gave up six hits and two walks and had seven strikeouts.

Royals 3, Angels 1

At Kansas City, Missouri, light-hitting Esteban German hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning and Kansas City snapped Los Angeles' four-game winning streak.

German had only three major league home runs in 441 at-bats before taking Ervin Santana (2-4) over the wall in left for his first homer in 144 at-bats.

Devil Rays 4, Twins 3

At St. Petersburg, Florida, pinch-hitter Dioner Navarro drove in the winning run with a grounder in the 10th inning after Tampa Bay rallied to tie in the ninth against Minnesota closer Joe Nathan.

Indians 7, Blue Jays 6, 11 innings

At Cleveland, Travis Hafner dribbled an RBI double down the third-base line, out of the reach of Toronto's overshifted infield, for Cleveland to win in the 11th inning.
