Nets end Knicks' playoff hopes

Jason Kidd's 87th triple-double led the New Jersey Nets to a 100-86 win over New York on Friday night that eliminated the Knicks from the playoff race.

The Nets clinched a playoff spot after Indiana's 100-96 loss to Miami.

Kidd had 13 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists for his 12th triple-double this season.

Vince Carter had 25 points for the Nets, while Richard Jefferson had 24, Mikki Moore and Nachbar each had 13.

The Nets bounced back from a 94-76 road loss on Thursday to the Cavaliers with a victory over their favorite opponent. New Jersey has won 21 of the past 25 from New York and is 19-4 against the Knicks since the arrival of Kidd.

Steve Francis led the Knicks with 22 points as New York dropped its third straight and lost for the 11th time in the past 13 games.

Raptors 87, Pistons 84

At Toronto, Anthony Parker scored 21 points and Toronto moved closer to clinching home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs with a victory.

Chris Bosh added 18 points and 16 rebounds for the Raptors.

Heat 100, Pacers 96

At Miami, Dwyane Wade scored 14 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, plus got a steal that set up James Posey's go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:29 left to carry Miami.

Shaquille O'Neal had 21 points on 10-for-12 shooting and Posey had 18 on 6-for-6 shooting.

Nuggets 107, Hornets 105

At Oklahoma City, the Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony scored 31 points, Allen Iverson added 23 and Denver spoiled the Hornets' final game in their temporary home.

The Nuggets overcame an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit with a 16-2 run that Marcus Camby started by slamming home Nene's miss with two hands.

Spurs 110, Timberwolves 91

At Minneapolis, Manu Ginobili scored 21 points to help San Antonio get its sixth straight victory.

Matt Bonner added 18 points for the streaking Spurs, who received 74 points from their reserves.

Wizards 98, Hawks 85

At Atlanta, DeShawn Stevenson scored 25 points and Washington used a 14-0 run at the end of the first half to end its longest losing streak in three years.

A six-game skid had put the playoff-bound Wizards (40-39) on the verge of falling below .500 for the first time since mid-December.

Bucks 104, Celtics 102

At Boston, Charlie Bell scored 24 points and Dan Gadzuric added a season-high 21 points and 11 rebounds to help Milwaukee snap a four-game losing streak.

Ruben Patterson scored 21 points and Earl Boykins had 15 for the Bucks.

Bulls 100, Bobcats 81

At Chicago, Ben Gordon scored 20 points and Chicago tightened its grip on the second seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs by beating Charlotte.

The win was the Bulls' ninth in 11 games, and with two more left in the regular season, their odds of securing the No. 2 seed look good.

Jazz 104, Mavericks 89

At Dallas, Carlos Boozer had 32 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists, helping Utah end a five-game losing streak.

The Jazz, trying to catch Houston for home-court advantage in their first-round series, had dropped six of seven.

Warriors 125, Kings 108

At Sacramento, California, Baron Davis scored 25 points, Stephen Jackson had 26 and Golden State kept up the pace in its playoff chase with a win over Sacramento.

Jason Richardson and Matt Barnes scored 17 points apiece for the Warriors (39-40).

Suns 93, Lakers 85

At Phoenix, Steve Nash had 26 points and 14 assists, and Phoenix sent a weary Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers to their sixth loss in seven games.

Bryant was 7-for-26 from the field for 17 points against Phoenix.

Clippers 107, Trail Blazers 89

At Los Angeles, Cuttino Mobley had 22 points, six rebounds and seven assists and Elton Brand added 20 points as the Clippers breezed to their ninth win 13 games.

Corey Maggette and Chris Kaman scored 17 points each for the Clippers (39-40), who remained tied with Golden State for the eighth and final playoff berth in the Western Conference.
