Cameron Shepherd scored a try and kicked three conversions and four penalty goals for a personal total of 23 points as the Western Force beat the Queensland Reds 38-3 in their Super 14 rugby match on Friday.

It was the Reds' sixth loss in a row. The win was the second in a row at home for the Force, which did not have a win at Subiaco Oval before last week's 18-17 victory over the Wellington Hurricanes.

Australian Brett Bowden awarded a penalty try within 10 minutes, and then sent off Peter Hynes for a dangerous tackle on former Queensland player Drew Mitchell before halftime.

"I think it was our best performance of the season, we held up great," said Force captain Nathan Sharpe.

"We've got a lot of depth, and that's the great thing about our team," he added.

The Force moved into second place in the standings while the loss left the Reds in last place with a 1-5 record.
