Tim Duncan scored seven of his 21 points in a 20-0 San Antonio spurt to start the second quarter and the Spurs took advantage of the absence of All-Star guard Jason Kidd to beat the New Jersey Nets 107-82 on Tuesday.

Tony Parker added 19 points and Manu Ginobili had 14 as the Spurs avoided tying their season-high three-game losing streak with their third win in eight games.

Vince Carter had 18 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Nets, who also lacked two other starters who have been sidelined for a while -- center Nenad Krstic and forward Richard Jefferson.

Rookie Marcus Williams had nine points and a career-high 10 assists starting for Kidd, who will miss final two games before the All-Star break with a lower back strain. His status for the NBA midseason classic on Sunday in Las Vegas is uncertain.

Heat 104, Trail Blazers 85

At Miami, Dwyane Wade shook off a bruised left shoulder to score 35 points, and Miami got back to the

.500 mark for the first time in three months.

Wade had 16 of his points in the final quarter, when the Heat pulled away for their seventh win in eight games, evening their record at 26-26 going into the All-Star break.

And when the Heat resume play next week, coach Pat Riley will be back on the sideline for the first time since leaving the team Jan. 3 to have surgeries on his hip and knee.

Zach Randolph had 17 points and six rebounds for Portland, and Jarrett Jack added 16 points.

The Trail Blazers, who had a modest two-game winning streak snapped, were within four with 9:14 remaining -- but Wade scored six straight points over the next 1:28 to help put the game away for Miami.

Grizzlies 108, Hornets 104

At Memphis, Tennessee, Hakim Warrick scored 15 points, including six straight late in the fourth quarter, and grabbed 12 rebounds as Memphis beat New Orleans.

Mike Miller scored 22 points to lead the Grizzlies. Chucky Atkins added 19, Rudy Gay had 18 and Junior Harrington and Pau Gasol 11 each.

Tyson Chandler had 17 points and a franchise record-tying 23 rebounds for New Orleans, which snapped its three-game winning streak. Desmond Mason scored 23 points and David West had 22 to lead the Hornets. Jannero Pargo added 11.

After Chandler's baseline dunk tied the score at 97 with 2:14 left, Warrick scored the next six points on a pair of free throws and two dunks to give Memphis the lead for good.

Mavericks 99, Bucks 93

At Milwaukee, Dirk Nowitzki had 38 points and 11 rebounds and the Dallas overcame a 16-point second-half deficit to beat Milwaukee and win its eighth straight.

The Mavericks, with the NBA's best record at 43-9, outscored the Bucks 28-11 in the fourth quarter as Milwaukee self-destructed with six turnovers and failed to hit a field goal in the final 7:05.

Dallas took its first lead of the game, 93-92, with 1:04 to play on Nowitzki's layup after the Mavericks got a third chance after a pair of offensive rebounds.

Milwaukee's Ruben Patterson, who finished with 20 points, tied it at 93 by hitting the second of two free throws, but Nowitzki, who finished with eight assists, drove and found Jason Terry for a 16-foot jumper that put Dallas ahead 95-93 with 34.9 seconds left.

Raptors 112, Bulls 111

At Chicago, Chris Bosh sank two free throws with 2.1 seconds left and Toronto blew a 12-point fourth-quarter lead before recovering for its 28th win -- one more than the Raptors had all of last season.
