Tim Duncan scored seven of his 21 points in a 20-0 San Antonio spurt to start the second quarter and the Spurs took advantage of the absence of All-Star guard Jason Kidd to beat the New Jersey Nets 107-82 on Tuesday.
Tony Parker added 19 points and Manu Ginobili had 14 as the Spurs avoided tying their season-high three-game losing streak with their third win in eight games.
Vince Carter had 18 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Nets, who also lacked two other starters who have been sidelined for a while -- center Nenad Krstic and forward Richard Jefferson.
Rookie Marcus Williams had nine points and a career-high 10 assists starting for Kidd, who will miss final two games before the All-Star break with a lower back strain. His status for the NBA midseason classic on Sunday in Las Vegas is uncertain.
Heat 104, Trail Blazers 85
At Miami, Dwyane Wade shook off a bruised left shoulder to score 35 points, and Miami got back to the
.500 mark for the first time in three months.
Wade had 16 of his points in the final quarter, when the Heat pulled away for their seventh win in eight games, evening their record at 26-26 going into the All-Star break.
And when the Heat resume play next week, coach Pat Riley will be back on the sideline for the first time since leaving the team Jan. 3 to have surgeries on his hip and knee.
Zach Randolph had 17 points and six rebounds for Portland, and Jarrett Jack added 16 points.
The Trail Blazers, who had a modest two-game winning streak snapped, were within four with 9:14 remaining -- but Wade scored six straight points over the next 1:28 to help put the game away for Miami.
Grizzlies 108, Hornets 104
At Memphis, Tennessee, Hakim Warrick scored 15 points, including six straight late in the fourth quarter, and grabbed 12 rebounds as Memphis beat New Orleans.
Mike Miller scored 22 points to lead the Grizzlies. Chucky Atkins added 19, Rudy Gay had 18 and Junior Harrington and Pau Gasol 11 each.
Tyson Chandler had 17 points and a franchise record-tying 23 rebounds for New Orleans, which snapped its three-game winning streak. Desmond Mason scored 23 points and David West had 22 to lead the Hornets. Jannero Pargo added 11.
After Chandler's baseline dunk tied the score at 97 with 2:14 left, Warrick scored the next six points on a pair of free throws and two dunks to give Memphis the lead for good.
Mavericks 99, Bucks 93
At Milwaukee, Dirk Nowitzki had 38 points and 11 rebounds and the Dallas overcame a 16-point second-half deficit to beat Milwaukee and win its eighth straight.
The Mavericks, with the NBA's best record at 43-9, outscored the Bucks 28-11 in the fourth quarter as Milwaukee self-destructed with six turnovers and failed to hit a field goal in the final 7:05.
Dallas took its first lead of the game, 93-92, with 1:04 to play on Nowitzki's layup after the Mavericks got a third chance after a pair of offensive rebounds.
Milwaukee's Ruben Patterson, who finished with 20 points, tied it at 93 by hitting the second of two free throws, but Nowitzki, who finished with eight assists, drove and found Jason Terry for a 16-foot jumper that put Dallas ahead 95-93 with 34.9 seconds left.
Raptors 112, Bulls 111
At Chicago, Chris Bosh sank two free throws with 2.1 seconds left and Toronto blew a 12-point fourth-quarter lead before recovering for its 28th win -- one more than the Raptors had all of last season.
Bosh finished with 25 points and 14 rebounds for the Raptors, who ended a 15-game losing streak against the Bulls stretching back to Dec. 6, 2002. Andrea Bargnani added 22 points for Toronto.
Ben Gordon, whose three-point play with 12.8 seconds left had given the Bulls a 111-110 lead and capped a 13-0 run, put up a jumper that was short at the buzzer.
Luol Deng scored 30 points and Gordon added 26 for the Bulls.
In the closing seconds, Chicago's Tyrus Thomas blocked a layup attempt by T.J. Ford but Bosh rebounded and was fouled by Thomas before hitting both free throws.
The Raptors, winners of nine of their last 11, led by eight points early in the fourth quarter.
Rockets 109, Kings 104, OT
At Houston, Tracy McGrady had 28 points and 12 assists as Houston overcame Ron Artest's big night to beat Sacramento in overtime.
Artest matched his career high with 39 points, hitting 12 of 23 shots and going 10-for-11 from the free-throw line. Artest also had eight rebounds.
His free throws with 1:47 left in overtime put the Kings up 104-103, but McGrady hit a turning fadeaway over Artest with 1:29 left to put Houston up for good.
Luther Head hit a floater in the final minute of the extra period and forced John Salmons into a turnover at the other end that helped clinch Houston's eighth victory in 10 games.
Shane Battier added 25 points, including a 3-pointer in overtime, and grabbed eight rebounds for the Rockets, who won for the first time in 14 games when they trail after three quarters.
Knicks 107, Lakers 106
At Los Angeles, Eddy Curry scored four of his 19 points in the final minute, including a go-ahead dunk with 7.1 seconds remaining, to lift New York to its third win in four games.
Kobe Bryant made a short jumper with 29.9 seconds left to put the Lakers ahead, but Curry scored off a lob pass from Jamal Crawford.
The Lakers had plenty of time to go for a winning shot, but Bryant never touched the ball and Lamar Odom's jumper as time expired didn't hit the rim.
Crawford led the Knicks with 24 points.
Quentin Richardson had 19 points and 12 rebounds, Channing Frye added 14 points and seven rebounds.
Bryant led Los Angeles with 31 points and seven rebounds.
