Liu Xiang bounces back in Duesseldorf

Olympic champion and outdoor world record-holder Liu Xiang (¼Bµ¾) bounced back from a defeat three days ago to win the 60m hurdles at the Duesseldorf indoor meet on Tuesday.
Liu cruised home in 7.53 seconds to beat Ron Brammlett of the US, who clocked 7.61 seconds. Liu lost the race three days ago in Stuttgart to Dayron Robles of Cuba, who did not run in Duesseldorf.
Olusoj Fasuba of Nigeria clocked 6.58 seconds to win the 60m dash, ahead of Morne Nagel of South Africa.
Laverne Jones of the US Virgin Islands ran 7.22 seconds to win the women's sprint, while Johanna Manninen of Finland finished second in 7.29 seconds.
Willye White dies
Willye White, a five-time US Olympian and two-time Olympic silver medalist, died on Tuesday. She was 67 years old.
White died of pancreatic cancer at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to Sarah Armantrout, a longtime friend who was with White when she died.
White competed in five consecutive Olympic Games between 1956 and 1972 and remains the only American to have competed on five Olympic athletics teams.
