Jeff Carter scored two goals, including the winner with 1:02 remaining, as the Philadelphia Flyers snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Atlanta Thrashers on Sunday.
It was also Philadelphia goalie Antero Nittymaki's first win since a 3-2 victory over the New York Islanders on Nov. 30, snapping a personal 15-game skid.
Carter's sixth goal, a blast from the right circle that went over the left-shoulder of Atlanta goalie Kari Lehtonen, kept the Flyers from matching a franchise-record 10 game losing streak, set last month.
Atlanta's Ilya Kovalchuk, who has four goals in his last three games, opened the scoring with his 27th goal 11:21 into the game.
The Flyers tied it at 11:43 of the second period when Carter beat Lehtonen on a power play.
Red Wings 3, Avalanche 1
At Detroit, Pavel Datsyuk and Tomas Holmstrom each had a goal and an assist to lift Detroit.
Kirk Maltby got the other goal, and Dominik Hasek made 11 saves for Detroit, which snapped its three-game losing streak.
Paul Stastny got the Avalanche's goal and Jose Theodore stopped 38 shots.
Datsyuk opened the scoring 9:44 into the second period with his 14th goal. Holmstrom swatted a rebound into the net with 5:58 left for his 15th goal.
Stastny got a power-play goal when he put in a rebound just 35 seconds later for his 14th of the season. Maltby capped the scoring with 1:06 left.
Ducks 4, Stars 1
At Anaheim, California, Andy McDonald scored twice and Teemu Selanne had a goal and an assist to lead Anaheim.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 30 saves after missing 11 games with a groin strain. The 2003 playoff MVP improved to 12-2-0 over his last 14 starts.
Playing for the first time since Jan. 19 because of the All-Star break, the Ducks won for only the third time in 12 games and snapped a four-game losing streak with help from Dustin Penner's 17th goal.
Jere Lehtinen scored for the Stars on a penalty shot with 12:14 to play.
Blackhawks 4, Flames 3, OT
At Chicago, Denis Arkhipov scored a power-play goal at 2:53 of overtime to end Chicago's 10-game losing streak.
Arkhipov beat Calgary goalie Miikka Kiprusoff with a high screened shot from the right circle. Arkhipov had deflected in Duncan Keith's shot from left wing with 44 seconds left in regulation to tie the score 3-3 and force overtime.
Chicago won for the first time since Jan. 2 in St. Louis, ending an 0-8-2 slide. The Blackhawks also won for the first time at home since Dec. 26, stopping an 0-6-2 run.
James Wisnieski and Jeff Hamilton also scored for the Blackhawks.
Daymond Langkow, Kristian Huselius and Alex Tanguay had Calgary's goals.
