Coyotes maul Thrashers to extend winning streak

Yanic Perreault scored 2:29 into overtime and the Phoenix Coyotes rallied from a three-goal deficit to beat the Atlanta Thrashers 5-4 on Friday, stretching their winning streak to a season-high five games.
Shane Doan had two goals, including one in the Coyotes' three-goal third. Phoenix, which fell behind 4-1 early in the third, forced overtime with goals by Ladislav Nagy, Doan and Owen Nolan.
Phoenix claimed its fourth straight road win, including three straight on its current trip.
Marian Hossa, held without a goal for seven games, scored twice for Atlanta. Hossa, tied for second in the NHL with 25 goals, hadn't scored one since Dec. 19. Ilya Kovalchuk and Jon Sim added goals. Johan Hedberg allowed five goals on 31 shots.
Penguins 4, Sabres 2
At Buffalo, New York, Evgeni Mal-kin, Ryan Whitney and Jordan Staal each had a goal and assist and Marc-Andre Fleury made 31 saves in Pittsburgh's victory over Buffalo.
Dominic Moore also scored for the Penguins, who snapped a five-game losing streak to Buffalo while extending their overall winning streak to three games.
Predators 8, Blackhawks 3
At Chicago, Paul Kariya had a goal and three assists and Scott Hartnell scored twice as Nashville trounced Chicago.
Jason Arnott and David Leg-wand each posted a goal and two assists as Nashville had its highest-scoring game since a 9-4 win over Calgary last March 18.
Avalanche 4, Lightning 2
At Denver, Tyler Arnason broke a tie with a second-period goal and Joe Sakic scored on the power play in Colorado's victory over Tampa Bay.
Paul Stastny had a goal and two assists and Milan Hejduk also scored for Colorado, which won for the second time in five games.
Blue Jackets 4, Ducks 3
At Anaheim, California, Rostislav Klesla scored twice and Manny Malhotra had the go-ahead goal during a four-goal outburst in the final 10 minutes that gave Colum-bus the win over Anaheim.
Charging back from a 3-0 deficit, the Blue Jackets scored four times in an 8:32 span beginning with 10:02 remaining.
Canucks 3, Oilers 2, OT
At Vancouver, British Columbia, Matt Cooke scored 84 seconds into overtime to lift Vancouver past Edmonton for its season-high sixth straight win.
Cooke has three goals in five games after netting just one in the previous 37. Vancouver is 7-0 in overtime this season.
