India led South Africa by 311 runs on Saturday at the end of day two of the first Test after dismissing South Africa for only 84 in its first innings.
It was South Africa's lowest score since its readmission to world cricket.
India's opening bowlers had South Africa struggling from the start after reducing the hosts to 5 runs for three wickets in the fourth over.
South Africa captain Graeme Smith was trapped leg before wicket for 5 by Sree Sreesanth. Herschelle Gibbs flashed at a delivery and was caught by Virender Sehwag in the gully for 0 off Zaheer Khan. Hashim Amla prodded at Sreesanth to be caught by V.V.S. Laxman at second slip, also without scoring.
Jacques Kallis was out for 12, edging Sreesanth to second slip.
Sreesanth finished with a career-best 5-40 off 10 overs while Khan took 2-32.
Leg spinner Anil Kumble helped wrap up the tail and finished with 2-2.
Andre Nel, who hit out in desperation when he came to the crease at 45-7, scored 21 off 24 balls. Ashwell Prince scored 24 before he became Kumble's first victim.
In response, India reached 146-5 in its second innings on a day when 20 wickets fell at the Wanderers Stadium.
Laxman was undefeated on 42, helping India to build on its 165-run first innings lead.
Earlier, India was dismissed for 249 in its first innings after Sourav Ganguly scored an undefeated 51 on his return to Test cricket.
US track and field athletes have about four dozen pieces to choose from when assembling their uniforms at the Olympics. The one grabbing the most attention is a high-cut leotard that barely covers the bikini line and has triggered debate between those who think it is sexist and others who say they do not need the Internet to make sure they have good uniforms. Among those critical or laughing at the uniforms included Paralympian Femita Ayanbeku, sprinter Britton Wilson and even athletes from other countries such as Britain’s Abigail Irozuru, who wrote on social media: “Was ANY female athlete consulted in

Former US Masters champion Zach Johnson was left embarrassed after a foul-mouthed response to ironic cheers from spectators after a triple bogey at Augusta National on Friday. Johnson, the 2007 Masters winner, missed the cut after his three-over-par round of 75 left him on seven-over 151 for 36 holes, his six on the par-three 12th playing a big role in his downfall. Television footage showed Johnson reacting to sarcastic cheers and applause when he tapped in for the triple bogey by yelling: “Oh fuck off.” Such a response would be considered bad form in any golf tournament, but is particularly out of keeping

The Taiwanese shuttlers lost to China’s Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang, who advanced to yesterday’s final against Malaysia’s Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzudin. The Chinese pair outplayed Lee and Yang in straight games. Although the Taiwanese got off to a slow start in the first game, they eventually tied it 14-14, before Liang and Wang went on to blow past them to win 21-17. In the second game, Lee and
