Slovenia midfielder Zlatko Dedic scored twice and earned a penalty kick on Thursday in Parma's 3-1 win against Napoli.
Parma overcame a 1-0 first-leg deficit to advance to the Italian Cup quarterfinals 3-2 on aggregate.
Luca Cigarini converted the penalty after Dedic was brought down in the area moments before halftime.
Dedic used one touch to convert off a long pass in the 53rd, then scored on an error by Napoli goalkeeper Matteo Gianello in the 66th.
Samuele Dalla Bona scored for Napoli in the 82nd on a rebound from his own shot.
However, Napoli was reduced to 10 men when Gyorgy Garics received a straight red card for a last-man foul -- on Dedic -- in the 86th.
Ruben Maldonado had an opportunity to send Napoli through on away goals six minutes into injury time but was ruled offside.
Napoli, the Serie B leader, rested several usual starters, including its top scorer Emanuele Calaio.
Parma has struggled in Serie A -- where it is tied for 16th place -- but has won all three of its games in the UEFA Cup and has now reached the last eight of the Italian Cup.
"Our main goal remains staying in Serie A," coach Stefano Pioli said.
Parma will next face AS Roma, which eliminated Triestina last week.
The other quarterfinal matchups are Inter Milan vs. Empoli, Sampdoria vs. Chievo Verona and AC Milan vs. Arezzo.
