It has been said that the NLCS was only a race to see who will have the honor of losing to Detroit, whose trip to the World Series looks like a slow jog on the beach compared to what the Cardinals have gone through. Whether or not that is true remains to be seen. For now, see only this: one of truest Game 7s ever played, a classic to the core, the textbook definition of "playing a hard nine."
