Long ball threat Tseng Han-chou put the Whales ahead 2-0 with his fourth homer of the season, a two-run blast off Sinon starter Alfredo Gonzalez in the bottom of the second inning, to give his team a great start.
But that was all the offense the Whales could muster in the game, as they watched the Bulls come back with a third-inning run to reduce the deficit to 2-1, before tying things up in the fifth inning and then claiming a 3-2 lead in the eighth inning on Huang Chung-yi's RBI groundout.
Gonzalez won for the eleventh time this year with seven innings of two-run ball on nine hits, leaving the Whales' American lefty Derrick Van Dusen still in search of his first win with a 0-2 record from two starts.
