Scott Gomez, John Madden, Jason Wiemer and Sergei Brylin scored goals and Martin Brodeur broke a tie for fourth place on the National Hockey League's career victories list in the New Jersey Devils' 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
Brodeur made 33 saves and won his 438th career game, moving him past Hall of Famer Jacques Plante.
Looking to separate themselves from Montreal and Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference standings, the Devils scored 1:10 apart in the second period to propel them to their first three-game winning streak since a nine-game run in late January.
Simon Gagne scored the only goal for the Flyers, who lost their second straight game.

At Toronto, Nik Antropov scored twice in a five-goal first period and Toronto routed Buffalo.
Toronto took a 4-0 lead in the first 6:24 as Jeff O'Neill, Ian White, Tie Domi and Antropov scored. Alexei Ponikarovsky had a goal and two assists and Matt Stajan also scored for the Maple Leafs, winners of three straight and five of seven.
Buffalo has gone 1-7-1 since its season-high eighth straight win against Toronto on March 16.
Toronto is in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, seven points out of the eighth and final spot.
Jean-Sebastien Aubin made 22 saves for his first shutout of the season and the seventh of his career.
Thrashers 5, Hurricanes 2
At Atlanta, Ilya Kovalchuk had two goals and the Atlanta Thrashers snapped a two-game losing streak.
Marc Savard also scored on a first-period penalty shot for Atlanta. The Thrashers are ninth in the Eastern Conference with 78 points, five behind Tampa Bay for the eighth and final playoff spot.
Carolina, which clinched the Southeast Division on Friday, has lost five of nine.
Slava Kozlov scored his 23rd goal and Jim Slater also had a goal for the Thrashers. Goalie Kari Lehtonen made 35 saves to improve to 19-14-0.
Matt Cullen had a goal and an assist and Rod Brind'Amour also scored for the Hurricanes. Cam Ward had 13 saves.
Canadiens 2, Bruins 0
At Montreal, Cristobal Huet shut out Boston for the third time in a row and Garth Murray had his first career two-goal game to lead Montreal to its season-high sixth straight win.
The Canadiens, who host the Bruins again on Tuesday, remained in a tie with New Jersey for sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
Huet made 32 saves for his seventh shutout of the season in 32 games. Each of Huet's shutouts has come since Feb. 4, when he made 35 saves in a 2-0 win over the Bruins.
Boston goalie Tim Thomas stopped 33 shots.
Blue Jackets 5, Blackhawks 2
At Columbus, Ohio, Mark Hartigan scored twice and added an assist in the third period for his first career multipoint game to help Columbus tie the franchise mark with its fifth straight win.
Hartigan had not scored in 18 games before tying the game 2-2 just 4:49 into the third period. After assisting on Jaroslav Balastik's go-ahead goal, he added his fourth goal of the season for a 4-2 lead.
Nikolai Zherdev also had a goal and David Vyborny added a short-handed empty-netter. Balastik also had an assist, and Marc Denis had 27 saves.
Brandon Bochenski and Kyle Calder had goals for Chicago.

At Edmonton, Alberta, Kristian Huselius scored twice in the second period, Daymond Langkow had a goal and an assist and Andrew Ference also scored for Calgary, which won its third straight game to open a four-point cushion atop the Northwest Division.
