Owens was released last week when the Eagles chose not to pay him a US$5 million roster bonus. His path to Dallas was cleared when the Cowboys released Keyshawn Johnson, a favorite of Parcells, who also wanted more money.
"We can both disappoint each other in this agreement," Jones said of Owens. "But this is no free lunch to the Dallas Cowboys. We made a commitment to him. That means something."
