Taiwan will face Syria at the Chungshan Soccer Stadium at 6pm today in their 2007 Asian Cup Group B qualifying match.
Taiwan's head coach, Toshiaki Imai, said his team faces a tough game.
"Our opponent is a strong team. It will not be easy to attack them," he said.
Imai added that the local players are in good condition and are ready for today's battle.
The Chinese Taipei Soccer Association employed Imai at the recommendation of the Japanese Football Association with the intention of improving Taiwan's performance in international soccer games.
Taiwan lost its opening Asian Cup qualifier against Iran 4-0 earlier this month.
A representative from the Chinese Taipei Soccer Association said that the game will be played, regardless of the weather.
A women's soccer match will be held at 2pm.
