Peter Crouch scored Saturday to give Liverpool a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the FA Cup, the club's first over the Red Devils in the competition since 1921.
Crouch's 19th-minute goal was his first in eight matches and made him the first Liverpool striker to score this year.
In other fifth-round matches Saturday, Charlton beat League One Brentford 3-1, while Bolton and West Ham will replay after a 0-0 draw. Newcastle beat Southampton 1-0.

At Anfield, Edwin van der Sar had stopped a header by Harry Kewell but Liverpool went ahead from the resulting corner. Crouch headed Steven Gerrard's corner kick toward goal and the United goalkeeper could only pushed the ball on to the post, from where it bounced into the net.
Manchester United's bad day got worse in the last minute when substitute Alan Smith landed awkwardly on his left leg after jumping to block John Arne Riise's kick. He was carried from the field on a stretcher with his leg strapped and taking oxygen through a face mask.
"He has broken his leg and dislocated the ankle joint," Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson told MUTV. "It is a bad one. He has gone to hospital, it looks very long term -- it is one of the worst I have seen. I am sure he will be back."

The England international's treatment resulted in seven minutes of injury time and is certain to rule him out of the June 9-July 9 World Cup.
"As a manager you do not want to see any player hurt," Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez said. "But sadly this is football and I can only offer my concern and just enjoy the victory."
Liverpool was seeking to atone for last month's 1-0 Premier League loss at Old Trafford and dominated possession. Manchester United captain Gary Neville had riled Liverpool fans in that game by celebrating the goal in front of them and was jeered Saturday whenever he touched the ball.
Neville had objects including a half-eaten burger thrown at him during the second half.
United, the record 11-time FA Cup winner and last year's runner-up, was without defender Rio Ferdinand, who sustained a hamstring injury in training. However, it was the central midfield partnership of Darren Fletcher and Ryan Giggs that struggled to compete with the home side's abrasive Mohamed Sissoko and Steven Gerrard.
"Liverpool can play for only five minutes and win the game, that is the way they are," Ferguson said. "They pump the ball into the box and with good set-piece delivery they keep you under pressure."
Charlton won a quarterfinal place for the first time in six seasons. The Addicks went 3-0 up through Darren Bent, Jay Bothroyd and Bryan Hughes before a late goal by Brentford's Isaiah Rankin.
Charlton hasn't won the FA Cup since its single 1947 win.
"For a club like us it is a route for success," Charlton manager Alan Curbishley said. "I have never managed to get past the quarterfinal stage in the 15 seasons I have been here.
"This was a chance to keep the season going, although we still need to win a few more games in the Premiership as we need to get back into the top 10."
Newcastle, a six-time FA Cup winner which last won the trophy in 1955, was without injured captain Alan Shearer, giving Kieron Dyer his first start since Aug. 28. Dyer, whose hamstring injury was complicated by an illness, scored in the 68th minute on a pass from Charles N'Zogbia.
Southampton's teenage goalkeeper, Bartosz Bialkowski, had earlier saved from Dyer and Shola Ameobi before being carried off injured. He was replaced in goal by outfield player Dexter Blackstock.
It was the third straight win for Newcastle since it fired manager Graeme Souness on Feb. 2. Glenn Roeder is in charge until the end of the season.
Bolton dominated at the Reebok Stadium but couldn't score. Gary Speed and Kevin Nolan had the best chances as Bolton played to a fifth consecutive draw. West Ham, which will host the replay, missed out on an eighth successive win in all competitions.
Rangers beat Hibernian 2-0 to move to third in the Scottish Premier League.
Goals by Kris Boyd and Barry Ferguson ended Rangers' three-match losing streak, but it is still eight points behind second-place Hearts, which beat Motherwell 3-0.
Celtic has 64 points, followed by Hearts with 54. Rangers has 46, one more than Hibernian. Kilmarnock's 3-1 win over Livingston gave it 44 points for fifth place.
Rangers lost to Hibernian in the Scottish Cup on Feb. 4, and was beaten by Aberdeen and Celtic in the league.
"It was very important," Rangers manager Alex McLeish said of the win. "The players were under a bit of pressure, we've all been under a bit of pressure, and it's great to see that they can respond to that.
"It shows that they have not withdrawn into a shell and that they are capable."
Hearts won with two goals from Edgaras Jankauskas, who was making his first appearance in six weeks after recovering from a hamstring injury, and another from 18-year-old Calum Elliot.
"Edgaras led the line brilliantly," Hearts coach Graham Rix said. "He holds the ball up and brings people into play, and he took the weight of young Calum. He scored his two goals and I am delighted for him."
In other matches, it was: Aberdeen 1, Falkirk 0 and Dundee United 2, Inverness Caledonian Thistle 4.
Ronaldinho celebrated his return from suspension with a goal and led FC Barcelona's 5-1 win over Real Betis, extending the club's lead to seven points atop the league.
Henrik Larsson and substitute Lionel Messi also scored at Camp Nou stadium, while Betis defender Juan ``Melli'' Andreu contributed two own-goals to end Barcelona's two-match losing streak.
Earlier Saturday, Real Madrid climbed past idle Valencia into second place with a 3-0 win over Alaves on goals by Jose Maria ``Guti'' Gutierrez, Robinho and Cicinho at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
In other 24th-round games, Diego Forlan scored his first goal in two months to help Villarreal beat Espanyol 4-0, while Sevilla edged Celta Vigo 1-0.
Barcelona leads the league with 55 points, while Madrid has 48, Valencia 46 and Osasuna 43. Valencia can reclaim second place today if it wins at Real Sociedad.
Ten-man Juventus allowed a goal with four minutes remaining and settled for a 2-2 draw with Messina, letting AC Milan to close within 10 points of the Serie A leader thanks to a 1-0 win at home over Cagliari.
AC Milan's victory moved it into second place ahead of crosstown rival Inter, which was held to a 0-0 draw at Livorno and remained 12 points behind Juventus.
Alberto Gilardino converted a 23rd-minute penalty, his 15th goal this season, to give Milan its third straight victory and stretch its unbeaten streak to seven matches.
Despite losing defender Fabio Cannavaro to a second yellow card in the 52nd minute, Juventus took a 2-1 lead in the 81st minute when substitute Adrian Mutu converted the team's second penalty after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was fouled.
But Messina's newly signed Sergio Floccari scored his second of the game five minutes later with a header off a free kick, earning the draw but leaving the club in 15th place. It is two points behind 14th-place Reggina and only one ahead of Cagliari, which remained winless away from home.
The goals were the 24-year-old Floccari's first in the Serie A after joining Messina in January. He played in Italy's third division until last year.
"I would not say we lost two points but that we gained one," Juventus manager Fabio Capello said. "Both sides tried to win. The result was fair."
Juventus, unbeaten in its last 23 games including a 16-match run in the Serie A since a 3-1 loss to AC Milan in October, fell behind after only three minutes when Messina's Floccari beat two defenders on a counterattack and scored past goalkeeper GianLuigi Buffon.
Ibrahimovic equalized at Stadio San Filippo with a right-footed drive from inside the area in the 17th. He had squandered an easy chance a few minutes earlier.
Juventus improved to 21-4-1 and 67 points. AC Milan has 57 while Inter has 55.
Michael Ballack scored in the 89th minute for Bayern Munich to draw 1-1 with Hannover 96.
Fifth-place Hannover, unbeaten in 11 matches, took a 1-0 lead on Thomas Brdaric's 56th-minute goal in front of 49,500 spectators.
But a precise cross by Willie Sagnol to Ballack, who headed in over two defenders, ensured Bayern's unbeaten streak moved to 15 matches.
"I would have been happy beforehand with a 1-1, but not looking at the whole match and when we are ahead 1-0 that late," Hannover coach Peter Neururer said.
Bayern lost goalkeeper Oliver Kahn in the 51st minute when he bruised his thigh in a challenge on Brdaric. He is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's Champions League match against AC Milan.
Werder Bremen moved into second and nine points behind Bayern with a 1-0 win against Borussia Dortmund.
Four-time NBA all-star DeMarcus Cousins arrived in Taiwan with his family early yesterday to finish his renewed contract with the Taiwan Beer Leopards in the T1 League. Cousins initially played a four-game contract with the Leopards in January. On March 18, the Taoyuan-based team announced that Cousins had renewed his contract. “Hi what’s up Leopard fans, I’m back. I’m excited to be back and can’t wait to join the team,” Cousins said in a video posted on the Leopard’s Facebook page. “Most of all, can’t wait to see you guys, the fans, next weekend. Revelations of positive doping tests for nearly two dozen Chinese swimmers that went unpunished sparked an intense flurry of accusations and legal threats between the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the head of the US drug-fighting organization, who has long been one of WADA’s fiercest critics. WADA on Saturday said it was turning to legal counsel to address a statement released by US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) CEO Travis Tygart, who said WADA and anti-doping authorities in China swept positive tests “under the carpet by failing to fairly and evenly follow the global rules that apply to everyone else in the world.” The
Taiwanese judoka Yang Yung-wei on Saturday won silver in the men’s under-60kg category at the Asian Judo Championships in Hong Kong. Nicknamed the “judo heartthrob” in Taiwan, the Olympic silver-medalist missed out on his first Asian Championships gold when he lost to Japanese judoka Taiki Nakamura in the finals. Yang defeated three opponents on Saturday to reach the final after receiving a bye through the round of 32. He first topped Laotian Soukphaxay Sithisane in the round of 16 with two seoi nage (over-the-shoulder throws), then ousted Indian Vijay Kumar Yadav in the quarter-finals with his signature ude hishigi sankaku gatame (triangular armlock). He
Rafael Nadal on Wednesday said the upcoming French Open would be the moment to “give everything and die” on the court after his comeback from injury in Barcelona was curtailed by Alex de Minaur. The 22-time Grand Slam title winner, back playing this week after three months on the sidelines, battled well, but eventually crumbled 7-5, 6-1 against the world No. 11 from Australia in the second round. Nadal, 37, who missed virtually all of last season, is hoping to compete at the French Open next month where he is the record 14-time champion. The Spaniard said the clash with De Minaur was
