Ethan Moreau scored two short-handed goals Thursday to lead the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-2 victory over the undermanned Philadelphia Flyers.
Jarret Stoll also scored for the Oilers, who won for the fifth time in seven games.
Branko Radivojevic and Sami Kapanen had goals for Philadelphia, which was missing several key players.

The Flyers are without leading scorer Peter Forsberg (groin), captain Keith Primeau (concussion), starting goaltender Robert Esche (groin) and top defensemen Eric Desjardins (shoulder) and Joni Pitkanen (sports hernia).
Philadelphia hadn't allowed a short-handed goal in its first 26 games. Calgary is the only remaining NHL team not to allow one this season.
Sabres 3, Mighty Ducks 2, OT
At Buffalo, New York, Maxim Afinogenov scored 2:11 into overtime, and Thomas Vanek added a penalty-shot goal to rally Buffalo past Anaheim.
Ales Kotalik also scored for the Sabres, who won for the 10th time in 12 games.
Joffrey Lupul had a goal and an assist, and Chris Kunitz also scored for Anaheim, which lost its second straight.
Anaheim's Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 28 saves in his first start in eight games.
Lightning 5, Blues 4
At Tampa, Florida, John Grahame tied a Tampa Bay record with his eighth consecutive win and Martin St. Louis scored a tiebreaking goal with 6:30 left as Tampa Bay edge St. Louis.
Grahame made 17 saves in equaling the Lightning's best goalie winning streak, set by Nikolai Khabibulin in 2004. Ruslan Fedotenko had two goals, including an empty-netter with 33.5 seconds remaining.
St. Louis scored on a rebound shot from the left circle to put Tampa Bay up 4-3. Tim Taylor got the Lightning even at 3 when he lifted an in-close shot over Patrick Lalime at 6:15 of the third.
Fredrik Modin also scored for Tampa Bay, which has won 9 of 11.
Mike Sillinger and Keith Tkachuk each had two goals and assist for the Blues.
Wild 5, Penguins 0
At Pittsburgh, Marian Gaborik stole the puck from Pittsburgh forward Shane Endicott and scored barely a minute into the game, setting the tone for Minnesota's rout that ran the Penguins' losing streak to six games.
Alexandre Daigle ended a 14-game stretch without a goal by scoring twice and Wes Walz and Brian Rolston also scored for the Wild, which had lost four in a row and five of six.
The Penguins -- last in the Eastern Conference -- didn't draw a single penalty in losing their 21st in 28 games.
Jocelyn Thibault (1-8-2) made his first start in net since the Penguins cleared him through waivers. He allowed five goals on 32 shots.
Blue Jackets 4, Islanders 3, SO
At Columbus, Ohio, David Vyborny used a wrist shot to score the only goal in the shootout for Columbus.
The Islanders' Mark Parrish scored the tying goal, his ninth of the season, with 37 seconds left in regulation.
Sergei Fedorov scored his first goal with the Blue Jackets and Nikolai Zherdev and Adam Foote also scored for Columbus, which had a season high three power-play tallies.
The Blue Jackets, who snapped a five-game losing streak at home, are 3-0 in shootouts this season and 6-0-1 against New York since entering the league in 2000.
Mike York, who has six points in two games, and Trent Hunter also scored for the Islanders.
Rangers 5, Predators 1
At Nashville, Tennessee, Petr Prucha and Steve Rucchin each scored two goals, and New York snapped Nashville's four-game winning streak.
The Rangers, tied with Ottawa with an NHL-best 42 points, won for the eighth time in 10 games.
Jaromir Jagr moved ahead of Jason Spezza of Ottawa for the NHL points lead when he scored his 22nd goal at 12:31 of the first period. He then added two assists.
Yanic Perreault helped Nashville avoid the shutout by rookie Henrik Lundqvist when he scored his seventh at 4:15 of the third. But Lundqvist stopped 30 shots for New York, which rebounded from a 2-1 overtime loss at Chicago on Wednesday.
Nashville lost starting goalie Tomas Vokoun to a knee injury. Forward David Legwand also was forced out with an injury to his left leg.
Hurricanes 3, Kings 2
At Los Angeles, Erik Cole snapped a 13-game goal drought by scoring twice, Justin Williams also scored and Martin Gerber made 35 saves to lead Carolina past Los Angeles.
Jeff Cowan and Eric Belanger scored third-period goals for the Kings, who lost for the fifth time in six games and haven't tallied more than two goals in any game during that stretch.
It was the fourth time in five games that the Kings gave up two goals to one player.

At San Jose, California, Patrick Marleau had his fourth straight three-point game, Mark Smith scored two goals, and San Jose remained unbeaten with Joe Thornton in the lineup.
Thornton had two assists, giving him eight points in four games since arriving in a trade with Boston last week. San Jose, which lost 10 straight before Thornton's arrival, has scored at least five goals in four consecutive victories for the first time in franchise history.
