Saburo Omura, Matt Franco and Lee Seung-yeop all homered in the sixth inning yesterday, leading Bobby Valentine's Chiba Lotte Marines to a 10-0 win over the Hanshin Tigers in Game 2 of the Japan Series.

The Marines, bidding for their first Japan Series title in 31 years, take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven championships.

After scoring single runs in the first two innings, the Marines blew the game open in the sixth with five runs.

Omura connected for a two-run homer off Hanshin starter Yuya Ando to make it 4-0. Franco followed with a solo shot homer and Lee gave the Marines a 7-0 lead with his second homer of the series, a two-run blast off reliever Hirotaka Egusa.

Lotte starter Shunsuke Watanabe picked up the win after holding the Central League champion Tigers to four hits over the distance.

"It was a great team effort," said Valentine.
