Mogilny gets clutch goal on Panthers

Alexander Mogilny had the game-winning goal and two assists and New Jersey beat Florida 4-3 in the NHL on Tuesday.

Martin Brodeur stopped 21 shots for the Devils, who snapped a two-game losing streak in which they were outscored 10-2.

The Panthers dropped their second straight game.

Three New Jersey's four goals came on the power play. The Devils had scored five power-play goals in 31 chances over their first five games.

Mogilny a 3-3 tie at 13:54 of the third period when he stuffed a pass from Jamie Langenbrunner past Roberto Luongo. He assisted on a goal by Zach Parise earlier in the period, and on a goal by Viktor Kozlov in the second period.

Parise's at 4:03 tied the score after Juraj Kolnik had given Florida a 3-2 lead at 3:20.

Canadiens 4, Bruins 3

At Montreal, Alexander Perezhogin scored during the third period to cap Montreal's second rally.

Mike Ribeiro scored his second goal of the season 2:02 into the third to tie it at 3 and Perezhogin gave Montreal its only lead of the game at 9:12 with the Canadiens' third power-play goal.

Jose Theodore of Montreal made 20 saves, including holding off Boston on a 5-on-3 advantage for 1:13 shortly after Perezhogin's goal.

Montreal, 4-0 on the road this season, won for the first time in three home games.

The Bruins, who lost their only home game -- 2-1 to the Canadiens to open the season on Oct. 5, ended a six-game road trip at 3-3.

Boston's P.J. Axelsson, Nick Boynton and Brian Leetch, while Michael Ryder and Saku Koivu scored for Montreal.

Coyotes 4, Oilers 3, OT

At Edmonton, Alberta, Derek Morris scored one minute into the overtime period to give Phoenix the victory in Wayne Gretzky's first game in Edmonton as an NHL coach.

Oleg Saprykin scored twice in the first period for the Coyotes and Shane Doan added a goal in the third. It was the second straight road win for Gretzky and the Coyotes, who won 2-0 at Calgary on Monday.

Mike Peca scored his first goal as an Oiler, while Igor Ulanov and Marty Reasoner also scored for Edmonton.

Curtis Joseph made 26 saves to earn his 399th career victory for Phoenix, while Jussi Markkanen deflected 31 shots for Edmonton.

Former Oilers star defenseman Paul Coffey had his No. 7 jersey raised to the rafters in a pre-game ceremony.

Canucks 6, Blackhawks 2

At Vancouver, British Columbia, Daniel Sedin, Mattias Ohlund and Sami Salo scored in a four-minute span early in the second period to lead Vancouver over Chicago.

Ohlund his second goal later in the second period, and Brendan Morrison and Markus Naslund scored in the third as the Canucks won their third straight game.

Rookie Pavel Vorobiev netted his fifth goal and added an assist, and free agent acquisition Martin Lapointe scored his first goal for the Blackhawks, who have lost four of the last five games.
