Elephants 3, Bulls 2

Osvaldo Martinez failed to convert on a save opportunity for the Bulls on Thursday by blowing a one-run lead in the ninth in yielding a game-tying RBI double to the Elephants' Hsu Ming-lan before Kuo Yong-chih allowed home the winning run on Hsu Chih-wei's liner up the middle.

Brother closer Wu Bao-shien was credited with the win for tossing a scoreless eighth and ninth in relief of starter Liu Jung-nan, while Martinez was hit with a blown save and a loss in the game.

Elephants 5, Bulls 6

Chang Jien-ming's three-run blast off Elephants reliever Chuang Hong-liang capped a three-run seventh that gave the Bulls a 4-2 lead before Huang Chung-yi and Cheng Chih-hsiung made it 6-2 in the top of the ninth with an RBI single each off the Elephants' Wu Jung-yi.

Sinon reliever Yang Jien-fu nearly lost the game by serving up three runs to a vicious Elephants rally in the bottom of the ninth before fellow righty Jorge Cortez sealed the 6-5 win for the Bulls by getting the last out with a runner on second.

Veteran righty Lenin Picota won his 15th game of the season by taking a 4-1 lead into the seventh, while his counterpart Jonathan Hurst took the tough loss for allowing three runs on eight hits in 6-1/3 innings of work.
