NY Jets tell league they want a new stadium in Queens

Whatever happens in New Jersey, the Queens stadium could emerge quickly as a volatile issue in the New York mayor's race. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg led a controversial effort to build a US$2.2 billion stadium for the Jets on the West Side of Manhattan. After the proposal died in June when top state legislators refused to approve it, Bloomberg's ratings went up.
