But it is not all on Crennel. General Manager Phil Savage has final say on personnel. Among the moves already made, Savage acquired the veteran quarterback Trent Dilfer from Seattle for a fourth-round draft pick. Savage was director of college scouting with Baltimore when Dilfer helped the Ravens beat the Giants to win Super Bowl XXXV.
Dilfer will work with a rebuilt offensive line, and eventually with Braylon Edwards, the wide receiver drafted third over all out of Michigan. He recently reported to camp after signing a contract.
