Russia will travel to Croatia in the semifinals. Croatia beat Romania 4-1 after their reverse singles on Sunday on indoor carpet in Split, Croatia. Ivan Ljubicic beat Andrei Pavel 6-3, 6-4, 6-3.
Ljubicic was also the hero when Croatia upset the US in the first round, beating Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick and winning the doubles with Mario Ancic.
