Edward Szumowicz, 78, a retired pharmacist from Davison, slumped in his seat during the second quarter of Tuesday night's game. Drs. Todd Marcus of Livonia and Danny Rosenberg of Plymouth scrambled over nearby seats and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Szumowicz.
Szumowicz started breathing on his own and gave a thumbs-up to the crowd, which cheered as it watched him being wheeled out of the Palace. He was taken to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital.
