Jose Reyes drove in four runs and the New York Mets roughed up Randy Johnson for 12 hits in a 7-1 victory over the Yankees, evening the Subway Series at a game apiece on Saturday.
Kris Benson (2-1) threw six-plus shutout innings, Miguel Cairo homered and David Wright had a pair of RBI doubles for the Mets.
Left-handed relief pitcher Koo Dae-sung led off the seventh with a long double to center off Johnson, then scored from second on a bunt when the Yankees forgot to cover home.
Johnson (4-3) gave up four runs over 6 2-3 innings for the Yankees, who lost for just the second time in 13 games.
Each team lost a star player to injury. Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter left in the sixth after he was hit on the left elbow by Benson's pitch. Mets center fielder Carlos Beltran came out after the fifth because of a strained right quadriceps.
White Sox 5, Cubs 3
At Chicago, Paul Konerko broke up Carlos Zambrano's no-hit bid in the sixth, then delivered a go-ahead, two-run single in the eighth for the White Sox.
The White Sox put together a four-run rally with two outs in the eighth when Corey Patterson couldn't hold on to Konerko's sinking line drive to left-center. A.J. Pierzynski followed with an RBI single and Carl Everett knocked in two with a double for a 4-1 lead.
Jose Contreras (2-1) pitched seven strong innings and Dustin Hermanson finished for his 10th save in as many chances. He hasn't allowed a run in 20 1-3 innings this season.
Michael Wuertz (2-2) relieved Zambrano in the eighth and took the loss.
Rangers 18, Astros 3
At Arlington, Texas, Mark Teixeira hit a three-run shot to highlight a club-record, four-homer second inning, and David Dellucci had two of the Rangers' team-high eight home runs.
Rod Barajas, Hank Blalock and Laynce Nix connected in the second, and Richard Hidalgo and Kevin Mench also homered to help the Rangers top their previous best of seven, accomplished in 1986 and 2003.
The Rangers' eight runs in the second inning all came with two outs. Astros rookie Ezequiel Astacio (0-3) gave up three homers before leaving after 1 2-3 innings.
Blalock finished 4-for-5 with four RBIs to back Curt Young (4-2). He allowed two runs and five hits in five innings.
Angels 3, Dodgers 1
At Los Angeles, Chone Figgins drove in the go-ahead run with an eighth-inning double, and the Angels won for the fifth time in six games.
The Angels won at Dodger Stadium without star outfielder Vladimir Guerrero, the reigning American League MVP who will be sidelined at least two weeks due to a partial dislocation of his left shoulder.
Figgins lined a pitch from Giovanni Carrara (4-1) down the first-base line with one out, scoring Dallas McPherson from second. After two walks, Steve Finley drove in Figgins with an RBI single.
Brendan Donnelly (2-0) got two outs for the win.
The loss was the sixth in seven games for the Dodgers, 10-18 since winning 12 of their first 14.
Blue Jays 7, Nationals 0
At Toronto, Roy Halladay pitched seven scoreless innings and Eric Hinske hit a two-run homer for Toronto.
Halladay (7-2) allowed four hits and lowered his ERA to 2.84. The 2003 Cy Young Award winner struck out two and walked two for his sixth win in eight starts. He won just eight games last year after a troublesome right shoulder limited him to 21 starts.
Hinske homered off Tony Armas (1-2) in the sixth, giving Toronto a 6-0 lead.
