In Chicago, Rookie Luol Deng had 22 points and seven rebounds, and Eddy Curry added 21 points as the Chicago handed Utah its eighth consecutive loss.
Matt Harpring and Gordan Giricek both had 13 points for Utah, which hasn't won since beating the Philadelphia 76ers 103-101 on Dec. 20.
Heat 103, Trail Blazers 92
In Portland, Oregon, Miami began its longest road trip of the season by getting double-doubles from Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade to defeat the injury-depleted Portland.
O'Neal had 28 points and 10 rebounds and Wade had 25 points and 12 assists for the Heat, who led by as many as 22 in winning for the 16th time in 17 games. Their only loss came Monday against the SuperSonics, and they can avenge it Sunday night at Seattle on the second stop of a five-game trip.
Miami has won eight straight road games.
Ruben Patterson moved into the starting lineup and had 27 points for the Blazers, and Zach Randolph added 25 before fouling out. Portland has lost five of its last six.
Lakers 111, Rockets 104
In Los Angeles, Kobe Bryant had 27 points and 10 assists and the Los Angeles Lakers defeated Houston to snap a two-game losing skid.
Four other Lakers scored in double figures, including Lamar Odom with 20 points and 12 rebounds and Caron Butler with 21 points.
Tracy McGrady led the Rockets with 26 points. Yao Ming scored 25 points before fouling out with 2:18 remaining.
Along with Bryant, McGrady and teammate Bobby Sura donated US$1,000 per point to UNICEF to benefit children who survived the tsunamis in Southeast Asia. Sura added 20 points. In all, the three players contributed US$73,000.
Texas coach Rick Barnes suspended center Jason Klotz one game for throwing a punch at Memphis' Simplice Njoya during the Longhorns' win Thursday night.
No. 15 Texas (11-2) hosts in-state rival Baylor (7-3) in the Big 12 season opener on Sunday.
Klotz, who is averaging 11.3 points and 5.1 rebounds over 13 games, struck Njoya in the stomach, but no foul was called.
