Strong connected on 4-of-6 attempts from three-point range to help ETSU (3-5) snap a three-game slide. Tim Smith had 13 points and dished out seven assists for the defending Southern Conference champs.
Willie Jenkins poured in 24 points for the Golden Eagles (3-4), who shot just 32 percent from the floor and had a two-game win streak snapped.
The Bucs led 28-24 at halftime before slowly pulling away after the break. East Tennessee State extended its advantage to 10 points, 53-43, with under five minutes remaining and held Tennessee Tech off the rest of the way.
