American LeagueSteady rain Friday night forced Major League Baseball to postpone Game 3 of the American League Championship Series between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees.
The steady rain began about two hours before the scheduled 8:19pm start, and fell harder at about 8pm MLB announced the postponement at 8:05pm.
The best-of-seven series is scheduled to resume Saturday night at Fenway Park. Game 4 will be Sunday night and Game 5, if necessary, on Monday at 5:10pm.
The National Weather Service forecast called for mostly cloudy skies for Saturday night, with a 50 percent chance of showers. The temperature was expected to dip below 10? C.
