Defending champion AC Milan and Inter Milan were each held to 2-2 draws Saturday on the opening day of the Serie A season.
Milan gave up a 2-1 lead against newly promoted Livorno after being reduced to 10 men when Brazilian goalkeeper Dida was ejected in the seventh minute at San Siro. Inter had to scramble for a second-half equalizer by Brazilian striker Adriano at Chievo Verona.

Toulouse moved to the top of the French first division Saturday after two late goals ensured a 3-1 home win over Corsican side Ajaccio.
Metz, which drew 0-0 at home to Bordeaux, is second, also with 11 points but trailing Toulouse on goal difference.
