After yielding three early runs, the Bears went on an 11-run scoring spree to make it a laugher early, even though the Whales managed to score three runs, making the final of 11-6 more respectable.

Sunday's matinee affair was scoreless through the first four frames until the self-destructing Whales committed a costly error in the outfield that cleared the loaded bases in a four-run fifth inning for the Bears.

Bears catcher Chen Fong-ming (陳峰民) extended his home-run streak to three games with a towering blast into the left-field bleachers, giving him six RBIs for the week.

Two consolation solo blasts by the Whales off Bears starter Wu Si-yo (吳偲佑) in the seventh were the only mistakes that the rookie pitcher made all game long en route to his first career victory.
