Dominique rescues Boston Red Sox

AP , BOSTON AND SAN FRANCISCO

David McCarty homered in the 12th inning after Andy Dominique's first major league hit helped rescue the Red Sox following Keith Foulke's first blown save this year, and Boston beat the Seattle Mariners 9-7 on Sunday.

Curt Schilling had a perfect game for 5 2-3 innings before Randy Winn singled but wound up with a no-decision after Raul Ibanez hit a three-run homer off Foulke in a six-run eighth that made it 7-5.

Johnny Damon's sacrifice fly off Eddie Guardado and Dominique's looping pinch single tied it in the bottom half.

J.J. Putz (0-2) and Anastacio Martinez (2-0) each pitched two scoreless innings before McCarty's homer, which moved the Red Sox back into the AL East lead, a half-game ahead of New York.

Michael Tucker hit a two-run homer off Joe Kennedy (4-3) and Pedro Feliz went 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Giants, who have a winning record for the first time since April 14.
