Albert Luque scored the winner with a 37th-minute volley. Juventus' French defender Lilian Thuram met a Deportivo cross from the right flank with a header that bounced straight up into the air and Luque met the ball on the way down with an angled shot that went past goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
