Lee "The Monster" Chih-jeh's (§õ§Ó³Ç) 32 points paved the way for Taiwan Beer's 88-86 overtime win on Saturday against the high-flying BCC Mars. The Mars had won three in a row prior to the game.

The two-point victory propelled the "beer men" to a second-placed tie with the Mars in the league standings as of Saturday and cemented their status as firm title contenders.

Trailing the Mars by three with 15.4 second left to play, Lee drained a key three-pointer to force overtime and downed all but two of Taiwan Beer's six overtime points to earned himself the game-MVP honor.

"It was just ridiculous the way he [Lee] was playing tonight; he was definitely on a different planet," Mars head coach Chung Chih-mong (ÁéªKµÞ) said after the game.

Jeoutai 61, Bank of Taiwan 67

Bank of Taiwan snapped its three-game losing streak with an impressive victory over the last-placed Jeoutai Elephants on Friday.

Big men Chou Ben-tang (©P¥»°ó) and Chu Yung-hung (¦¶¥Ã¥°) put on a masterclass inside the paint against a less experienced Elephant front three as the tandem outplayed the opponents in every department.

Chou and Chu completely dominated as they put on a combined 32-point and 30-rebound performance.

The tight man-to-man employed by the miserly Bank of Taiwan's defense helped blank the Elephant's main scoring threat Yang Yu-ming (·¨¥É©ú) through the first three periods.

Despite Yang eventually accumulating a healthy 14 points before the end of the match, the Elephants were powerless against the superior defensive work of the Bank of Taiwan and the Elephants went down for the third straight game.

    Yulon 74, Dacin 71

Over 2,000 fans packed the Taipei Sports Education College arena for the showdown between the Dacin Tigers and the Yulon Dinos in Saturday night's matchup.

Down by as many as fifteen in the second half, the Tigers rallied late in the game to reduce the gap to three with a minute left to play. However, star forward Tien Lei's (¥ÐÂS) game-tying three-point attempt with 24 seconds left on the clock missed the net altogether as the Tigers' comeback fell three points short.

The narrow victory kept the Dinos' undefeated for the season (5-0) and opened up a two-game cushion over the second placed BCC Mars and Taiwan Beer.

Dino standout Chen Hsin-an (³¯«H¦w) scored a team-high 15 points with six boards and six assists to quietly lead his team past a tough Tiger squad.

Bank of Taiwan 60, Sina 83

Making it two in a row in the win column were the Sina Lions as they trashed the Bank of Taiwan in Sunday's afternoon contest.

After starting the season 0-3, the Lions finally found their winning way behind an outstanding effort by point guard Luo Hsin-liang (ù¿³¼Ù).

In addition to knocking down six out of seven from beyond the arc, Luo was an incredible seven-for-eight from the charity stripe to lead all scorers with 33 points in his best outing of the year.

Compared to its fearless performance in Friday night's victory, Bank of Taiwan was out of sorts on Saturday, shooting a meager 1-for-20 from behind the three-point line in the embarrassing defeat to close out the weekend with a 1-1 mark.

    Jeoutai 70, BCC 88

Lai Kuo-hung of the Mars made sure that his team would not go winless for the week as the six-foot-six graduate of the Chinese Cultural University put up 23 points to help lead the Mars over the last-placed Jeoutai Elephants.

Sharp-shooter Yang Yu-ming (27 points) was the Elephants' only bright spot in the 18-point defeat, as the balanced Mars' attack shredded through the Elephant defense for 88 easy points.
