Ell Roberson threw four touchdown passes to lead No. 13 Kansas State to a shock 35-7 win over previously undefeated Oklahoma Saturday, a victory that gave the Wildcats their first Big 12 title in 69 years.
Darren Sproles rushed for 235 yards in the championship game as the Wildcats trampled No. 1 Oklahoma's highly-touted defense.
The first and second teams in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) rankings will meet at the Sugar Bowl for the national championship.
The Sooners (12-1) are still expected to be in the top two but nothing will be official until the final BCS rankings are announced Sunday.
The Wildcats (11-3) finished the season on a seven-game winning streak and will play in the Fiesta Bowl, the school's first appearance in a BCS bowl game.
USC 52, Oregon State 28
Matt Leinart threw five touchdown passes and No. 2 Southern California beat Oregon State 52-28 in the Trojans' regular-season finale.
The Trojans (11-1, 7-1 Pac-10) find out today whether they will travel to New Orleans to play for the national title in the Sugar Bowl, or stay home and play in the Rose Bowl.
They were No. 2 in the BCS rankings this week. The top two teams in the final BCS rankings will meet in the Sugar Bowl for the national championship.
Pac-10 champion USC already had clinched at least a spot in the Rose Bowl.
Oregon State (7-5, 4-4) will play New Mexico in the Dec. 24 Las Vegas Bowl.
The Trojans' depth and versatility on both sides of the ball were more than the Beavers could handle.
USC scored 40 or more points for the seventh game in a row and finished the regular season with a Pac-10 record 506 points. Leinart established a conference single-season mark with 35 touchdown passes.
Mike Williams had two touchdowns catches, one a leaping, one-handed grab in the back of the end zone. He also got a hand on an Oregon State field-goal try that fell short, and made a crushing block on a run by Reggie Bush.
Bush, a freshman, also caught two touchdown passes. Steve Smith, another freshman, had 136 yards on five catches, including a 73-yard touchdown.
Navy 34, Army 6
Kyle Eckel rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns and Eric Roberts also scored two TDs to help Navy rout Army 34-6 in the 104th meeting of the two US service academies Saturday.
The loss meant the Black Knights became the first major college football team to finish 0-13 in a season.
Army has been beaten in 24 of its last 25 games and has also lost four of the last five meetings with Navy. Army, though, leads the overall series 49-48-7.
Navy (8-4) now plays in the Houston Bowl on December 30.
Army kept the game close for the first half but allowed 27 straight points to Navy in the second to slip to 0-7 under interim coach John Mumford, who replaced Todd Berry when he was fired following the first six losses.
Quarterback Craig Candeto rushed for 58 yards, going over the 1,000 mark for the season, as Navy rambled for 359 total yards.
