In Nashville, Tennessee, Scott Walker scored two goals, one on a power play and one when Nashville was short-handed to lead the host Predators.
The Blue Jackets, winless on the road this season, struck first when Rick Nash scored just 1:44 in. Adam Hall and Vladimir Orszagh added goals for the Predators, who had 12 shots in a scoreless second period.
Manny Malhotra closed out the scoring for Columbus.
