Deportivo swamps Atletico de Madrid to lead the league

Deportivo de la Coruna rolled over Atletico de Madrid 5-1 on Saturday to grab the lead in the Spanish league for at least a day.
It took just seven minutes for Deportivo to take the lead, Fran Gonzalez scoring from a pass by Victor Sanchez. In the 12th minute, Atletico's Argentine defender Matias Lequi equalized, but from then on the match became one-sided as a rampant Deportivo chalked up its fifth win in six rounds.
In the 36th minute, Atletico's Juan Carlos Aguilera scored an own goal, diverting a center from Enrique Romero.
Sergio Gonzalez made it 3-1 in the 51st minute, blasting in a powerful kick from 25m. Uruguay's Walter Pandiani added a fourth five minutes later, dribbling past a defender and beating Argentine goalkeeper German Burgos at the second attempt.
In injury time, Argentina's Lionel Scaloni scored from 25 meters to wrap up Deportivo's fifth win in six games.
