Scotland, Norway end match in draw

Norway was held to a 0-0 draw with Scotland in an international friendly Wednesday despite dominating the game at Oslo's Ullevaal Stadium.

Norway's best chance came right at the start of the second half, as Jon Aarne Riise one-timed a cross from Martin Andresen that struck the right post.

Riise drew close again in the 61st when he took a long pass and ran past substitute defender Darren Fletcher, but belted the ball wide from inside the penalty area.

Scotland struggled to cope with Norwegian exuberance, and its defenders often drifted out of position. But experienced Celtic keeper Robert Douglas kept Norway's attackers, including runaway Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, at bay.

The Manchester United midfielder dazzled Scottish defenders in the 37th with crossover footwork that brought him into the penalty area, but he fired just wide.

Towering Valencia striker John Carew, drew a yellow card after he lobbed three headers over the Scottish goal. His frustration grew after failing to score.
