Rookie right-hander Jae Seo and two relievers combined on a one-hitter to guide the New York Mets to a 5-0 blanking of the Florida Marlins in the National League Tuesday.
The Mets pitching staff faced the minimum 27 batters for the first time in franchise history as New York was involved in a one-hitter for the third straight game.
Seo (5-2) allowed only a fifth-inning single to Juan Encarnacion while striking out four and walking none in 6 2/3 innings before leaving with a split nail on his pitching hand.
"This has been incredible," said Mets manager Art Howe. "We're on a roll and pitching up a storm."
Reds 2, Cubs 1 (10 innings)
In Cincinnati, Sean Casey's two-out double in the bottom of the 10th inning drove in the winning run as the Reds edged the Chicago Cubs 2-1.
Scott Williamson (4-2) pitched two hitless innings of relief for the victory. Barry Larkin drove in the other Cincinnati run.

David Wells pitched a complete game seven-hitter and Ruben Sierra had three hits and drove in three runs to help the New York Yankees destroy the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 10-2 Tuesday.
The lopsided victory earned the Yankees a split of the day-night American League doubleheader.
"He [Wells] gave us what we needed tonight. He really gave us a lift," Yankees manager Joe Torre told reporters.
