Top teams draw in the Premiership

FC Barcelona's struggles continued with a 2-2 against Athletic Bilbao.

At the top of the Spanish table, Sociedad has 44 points with Real Madrid next with 42. Valencia is third with 39 points, followed by Deportivo with 36. Barcelona has just 24 points, two above the relegation zone.

Germany

Bayern Munich gained a point on second-place Borussia Dortmund despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Hamburger SV after Naohiro Takahara netted an injury-time header. Claudio Pizarro scored for Bayern.

Stuttgart, which beat Dortmund 1-0, moved into third place as Zvonimir Soldo got the game-winner. Bayern leads the Bundesliga with 44 points. Dortmund and Stuttgart both follow with 36 points while Werder Bremen is fourth with 34.

Netherlands

PSV Eindhoven stretched its lead over the defending Dutch champion Ajax to four points as the Amsterdam side was held to 1-1 draw with Feyenoord.

PSV beat RKC Waalwijk 1-0 as Arjen Robben tapped in a goal for the league leaders. Robin van Persie scored the equalizer for Feyenoord after Zlatan Ibrahimovic had put Ajax in the lead.

Scotland

Defending Scottish champion Celtic kept pace with Rangers, but the Bhoys suffered a blow when striker Henrik Larsson was rushed to the hospital with a broken jaw.

Celtic beat Livingston 2-1 on goals from Chris Sutton and Momo Sylla while Rangers topped Dunfermline 3-1.
