Pat Garrity had 21 points off the bench and Mike Miller added 20 for Orlando, which has won five of its last six. Darrell Armstrong had eight points and 11 assists, leading the Magic bench to a 47-23 scoring edge over Washington.
Jerry Stackhouse scored 18 points but made just 4 of 15 shots for the Wizards, who have dropped four of their last five.

Rookie Caron Butler scored 21 as Miami won for the sixth time in eight games. It was the second loss for Atlanta under new coach Terry Stotts, who replaced the fired Lon Kruger on Friday.

In New York, Allan Houston scored 28 points, including the game-winning free throws with 5.4 seconds left, and Michael Doleac added a season-high 16.
Tim Duncan made a short jumper while being fouled with 6.8 seconds left. His free throw gave the Spurs the lead, 95-94.
But Stephen Jackson fouled Houston trying for a steal, and New York's leading scorer sank both free throws.
Duncan then missed a short jumper as time expired.
Trail Blazers 85, Pistons 74
In Auburn Hills, Michigan, Rasheed Wallace scored 19 points and Bonzi Wells added 17 as the Portland Trail Blazers won their eighth straight game.
Portland blew a 13-point third-quarter lead, allowing Detroit to tie the game at 68 with 8:20 to play.
The Trail Blazers then scored the next 15 points, holding the Pistons scoreless for over six minutes. Wallace and Dale Davis had four each in the run, which saw five different players score.

In Dallas, Tim Thomas hit a 3-pointer from the left corner with 9.9 seconds remaining as the Milwaukee Bucks rallied from a 17-point second-quarter deficit and handed the Dallas Mavericks their second home defeat of the season.
Dirk Nowitzki, who matched his career high with 40 points, made two free throws with 2.9 left to cut the deficit to 109-107, but Thomas hit one of two foul shots with 2.6 seconds to play. The Bucks closed with a 10-2 run.
