Blackburn 1, Man United 0
Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson was left cursing his side's lack of good fortune after their run of eight successive wins was ended by a 1-0 league defeat away to Blackburn Rovers at Blackburn's Ewood Park on Sunday.
Former Manchester City midfielder Garry Flitcroft's goal five minutes before half-time was the first United had conceded in over eight hours of football and ensured Blackburn went ninth in the English Premiership.
But United had plenty of chances to level, especially when Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy shot wide in the second half when one-on-one with Blackburn keeper Brad Friedel.
"You expect Ruud to score in those situations but I think he rushed it and was anxious," Ferguson said.
"In the second half the final pass let us down at times but we still created some good chances -- but we'll regret the chances we missed in the first half."
