The Miami Dolphins held the Oakland Raiders to just 218 net yards while racking up over 330 themselves in a 23-17 win that improved their playoff chances on Sunday.

Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon, who has a record 10 300-yard games this season, threw for just 204 yards and a touchdown, a late strike to Jerry Porter.

He was also sacked five times for a loss of 42 yards. The Dolphins' Jay Fiedler, making just his second start after a lengthy absence with a broken thumb, tossed for 237 yards and a touchdown.

He found veteran Cris Carter, who snagged the ball with one hand in the back of the end zone late in the opening quarter before Travis Minor got Miami's other touchdown on a short run.

Ricky Williams picked up 101 yards on 27 carries.

Eagles 34, Redskins 21

In Philadelphia, in the last game to be played at Veterans Stadium, the Eagles rallied round third-string passer A.J. Feeley to down the Washington Redskins 34-21.

With the win, the Eagles (11-3) locked up the NFC East title.

Vikings 32, Saints 31

In New Orleans, the Minnesota Vikings grabbed a 32-31 win in bizarre circumstances over the Saints, who blew a chance to clinch a playoff berth.

Daunte Culpepper found Randy Moss from 13 yards with five seconds remaining to bring Minnesota to within a point.

However, rather than opting for a tying kick, they went for a two-point conversion, which they managed when Culpepper fumbled but still managed to scramble over the line.

Seahawks 30, Falcons 24 (OT)

In Atlanta, Shaun Alexander ran 27 yards for a touchdown in overtime as the Seattle Seahawks downed the heavily-favored Falcons 30-24.

Alexander had opened the scoring with a three-yard burst.

Matt Hasselbeck threw for another Seattle score, while Atlanta's Michael Vick passed for two touchdowns in a losing cause.

Bears 20, Jets 13

In Champaign, Illinois, Chris Chandler had a near-perfect day in leading the lowly Chicago Bears, losers of 10 of their past 11 games, to a 20-13 upset of the New York Jets.

Jaguars 29, Bengals 15

In Cincinnati, Mark Brunell tossed for three touchdowns as the Jacksonville Jaguars won 29-15 to hand the Bengals their seventh straight home loss.

Brunell hooked up with Kevin Lockett, Pete Mitchell and veteran Jimmy Smith before Stacey Mack scored on a three-yard burst to put it away.

Steelers 30, Panthers 14

In Pittsburgh, quarterback Tommy Maddox, coming off a shaky outing against Houston last week after recovering from a bruised spinal cord, threw for an early touchdown to start the Steelers on their way to a 30-14 rout of the Carolina Panthers.

Jerome Bettis gave Pittsburgh some breathing room with eight and nine-yard touchdown runs, with kicker Jeff Reed slotting all three of his attempts.

The Steelers benefited from four Carolina turnovers, two of them fumbles by Panthers quarterback Rodney Peete.
